IT Infrastructure Specialist (Systems Engineer + DBA + End User Technologies)

For our client, a multinational company operating in the insurance field, we are searching for an

IT Infrastructure Specialist (Systems Engineer + DBA + End User Technologies)

The role will be responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, upgrading and maintaining systems, and aligning the local systems to the Company Global standards. This includes data center vendor relationship, server services, database services, service monitoring, user support/help desk, workstation management, servers, and related software. Collaborating with the Company corporation, vendors, and business analysts.

This position will report to the Italian lead of IT Infrastructure and Operations and will be the only IT representative in Milan location, with 40 people approx. on site.

Responsibilities:

• Partners with Milan users to provide best class support along with other members of the IT Department.
• Partners with Business Analysts and Application development teams to lead the technology infrastructure strategy and execution for the Italian branch.
• Identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
• Work closely with strategic vendor partners. Build strategic relationships for creating value for the organization.
• Follow enterprise’s IT Risk and Security direction, ensuring the metrics are aligned with the corporate standards.
• Hands-on technical depth enables direct oversight, problem-solving mindset and participation for infrastructure implementation, system upgrades and operational troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• 4+ years’ total experience, including 2+ years in user support
• 2+ years’ experience in production 24/7 high-availability, including database and application support, security, and information protection. (Linux and Microsoft)
• 1+ years’ experience on Databases (MS SQL and Oracle)
• Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption. ITSM Tools (Service Now, Remedy,…)
• Exposure with regulatory compliance issues, as well best practices in application and network security.
• Fluency in English.
