HSE MANAGER

Our client is a multinational company leader in Automotive sector and is looking for a qualified

HSE MANAGER

The role will be responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing company’s employee safety at work, ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents, ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law. Develop policies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
  • Conduct safety audits both internal and external.
  • Provide technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
  • Support the Top Management in the Safety & Environmental Management System standard issue (UNI ISO 45001/ UNI ISO 14001).
  • Responsible for Waste management:
  • Check that the procedures for the correct differentiated waste disposal are updated, organize the loads and supervise the shipment.
  • Provide the registration of the “waste coupons” sent by the various functions in the Waste Register.
  • Responsible for analysing the consumption of general services (steam, water, electricity, etc.) and related reporting
  • Propose activities to improve specific consumption and use of facilities and share the activities with the Technical Office and Production Equipment manager. Verify the correct billing of electricity and gas consumption.
  • Emission Trading: responsible for the management of the application of Directive 2003/87 / EC and of Legislative Decree 30/2013 vis-à-vis the Management: reporting of the CO2 emissions issued, as well as the declaration and return of the quotas.
  • Responsible for the management of periodic checks on pressure vessels and safety valves.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to issue the Business Contingency Plan. Coordinate the annual audit with them and responsible for the execution of the activities foreseen in the technical services area and approved by the Management.
  • Responsible, as Manager of the Environmental Management System (RSGA) and the relative Certification, of the application of all system procedures relating to environmental protection and in general to legislative compliance in the environmental field.

Key requirements: 

  • Professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Good knowledge of risk assessment method, experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills. Team player
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Appropriate to resolve conflict with a positive outcome for the employees and company
